Michael Edwards

Vice President, Head of Risk and Operations, PMI Europe

As Head of Risk and Operations, Michael Edwards is in charge of market analysis, underwriting, claims, operations, and general administration for PMI Europe. His responsibilities include the development and application of risk management policies, guidance and oversight of the audit and quality control functions as well as supervision of the infrastructure and technology requirements for new and existing business.

Edwards joined PMI in 1990 and has since contributed to the company’s international expansion. In 1999 he helped establish PMI’s entry into international markets with the startup of PMI Asia in Hong Kong, where he served as Director of Operations. He has also held roles as Compliance Officer and Data Controller for PMI Europe, and General Manager for The PMI Group Reinsurance Company Limited.

Edwards joined PMI from Homestead Savings, a California regional savings and loan, where he managed the real estate investor loan portfolio.

Edwards serves on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity Ireland.

Edwards holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Arizona.
